Hennessey Child Study Club votes to support Whittenburg fundraiser

The Hennessey Child Study Club discussed community projects at its Jan. 9 meeting at the First Christian Church. Members decided to participate in the Whittenburg Family’s Benefit at 6 p.m. Feb. 8 at the Cow Palace. The Whittenburgs’ son, Logan, an elementary school student, recently passed away.

When Lomega was bested in the 2018 Warrior Classic championship game, there was a freshman who came off the bench to nail four 3-pointers and score all 15 of her points in the second half to lift Hammon to the title. That freshman’s name was Adysen Wilson.

Cashion needed more than 15 years to win its fi rst Three Rivers Conference Tournament championship in the boys bracket. It took the Wildcats just one year to win their second.

It took overtime, but Okarche was finally able to wrestle away the Three Rivers Conference Tournament championship from Cashion.

Dover boys 4th at Okeene

Dover had to settle for fourth place over the weekend in the boys bracket of the newly-revamped Okeene Invitational Tournament. The Longhorns were downed 70-46 by Pioneer in Friday’s semifi nal game, then lost 52-49 to Okeene in the third-place matchup.
