Florence Hellwege

Florence (Flo) Helen Howenstine Hellwege was born April 4, 1933, to Cy Howenstine Jr. and Cora Helen McDonald Howenstine in Arapaho, Okla. She passed away peacefully Dec. 10, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Carla Sue Fairbank died Dec. 8, 2019, at Ranchwood Nursing home in Yukon. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Benson Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Cord Fowler offi - ciating. Burial was in Holy Trinity Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home, El Reno.

It was a night of milestones for the Kingfisher High School girls basketball team last Tuesday. The Lady Jackets nabbed their first win of the season as they held off Chisholm 52-47 at the APB. The home opener was three days ahead of schedule.

Major renovation will temporarily close museum

The Chisholm Trail Museum in Kingfisher is preparing to expand its quarters and its mission. Curator Jason Harris obtained Kingfi sher County Commission approval for architect’s funding for the remodeling project last Monday, using the museum’s sales tax account.
