HHS speech earns sweepstakes at Marlow tournament

While most Hennessey students left to relax for Thanksgiving break on Friday, Nov. 22, the HHS speech and debate team and coach Linda Soudek traveled to Marlow for a two-day trip to the Marlow Speech Tournament.

OHS speech grabs two golds at Marlow

A small group of Okarche High School speech team members traveled south for the annual Marlow Speech Tournament and came home with two fi rst-place finishes and one second. The team took seven participants and all seven advanced to the fi nal rounds.

Traffic accidents

The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department:November 22, 1:07 p.m - At 504 S. 5th St. Deanna Powell, 24, El Reno, driving a 2017 Nissan Altima, was parked in the driveway at 504 S. 5th St.

Hennessey Police Department issued the following citations Nov. 14-26: Speeding, 10 Over Limit – Kristen L. Jennings, The Village; Terri L. Hummel, Enid. Failure to Stop at Stop Sign – Juan Carlos Borrego, Houston, Texas. No Proof of Insurance – Ashlyn M. Perkins, Leedey.

Pioneer marks 50th year transferring calls to Santa

Initial basketball rankings released

The first basketball rankings of the 2019-20 season were released Monday by ossaarankings.com. No Kingfisher County teams were ranked No. 1 although two of them received the most No. 1 votes in their respective classes in the polls that are voted on by coaches.
