An Illinois school district board voted to give unrestricted locker room and restroom access to transgender students. Video footage shows a high school girl choked up when her high school ruled that trans students have unrestricted access to bathrooms and locker rooms.

Kingfisher High School seniors Georgina Tarango, Cassidi Marshall, Gina Franco and Tyler Cowdery were guests last week of the Kingfisher Rotary Club. Tarango is the daughter of Jose and Georgina Tarango. She is active in Spanish Club, newspaper and soccer and also ran cross country.

Hennessey Elementary School recently recognized its Eagles of the Week for the week ending Nov. 15.

For the first time this season, Kelli Jennings was almost able to relax down the stretch of a game. After starting the season against basketball stalwarts Preston, Lomega and Calumet, the Lady Warriors had no trouble last Tuesday disposing of Harding Fine Arts, 72-21, at home.

Calumet apparently has Kingfi sher County’s number. One week after defeating Okarche in its new gym, the Lady Chieftains handed Lomega its second loss of the season. Calumet held off a furious Lady Raider rally to hold on to a 47-44 victory Tuesday at Lomega.

Savannah Station Therapeutic Riding Program in El Reno participated for the fi rst time in the Equine Special Olympics held Nov. 9 at the Oklahoma State University Totusek Arena in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Olive Margaret Powell Appleton went to be with her Lord on Nov. 17, 2019. She was born March 11, 1923, in Jackson, Miss., to Ada Reeves Powell and Martin Powell. Olive grew up in a large extended family in Pike and Walthall (Miss.) counties.

Paul H. Hoebing was born Feb. 29, 1932, in Okarche, to Leonard and Clara Wiewel Hoebing, the youngest of eight children. He grew up in Okarche, but completed his last three years of high school in Sedalia, Mo. He graduated in 1950 and returned to Okarche prior to enlisting in the U. S.
