Wildcats prowling at Big House for 4th time since 2020

As it turned out, Cashion matched up pretty well with Preston, too.The Wildcats are headed to the state tournament for the first time since 2022 after defeating No. 7 Preston 52-35 Saturday in a Class 2A area consolation championship at Okmulgee.

Stockton, Scruggs claim wins before bowing out at state

Hennessey’s Kason Scruggs and Cashion’s Matthew Stockton and Carlos Martinez battled well into the third day of the Class 3A state wrestling tournament.All three wrestlers made their respective consolation semifinals before being eliminated from the tournament.

For the second time in three years and third time since 2020, the Cashion Lady Wildcats fought their way through the consolation bracket and found themselves just one win away from state.

Whitesboro ends Dover state quest

Dover’s bid to return to the state tournament came up just a few points short.Ninth-ranked Whitesboro scored the game’s final four points Saturday night to defeat Dover 44-40 in a Class B area consolation championship at Seminole.

Weatherford cruises past KHS in regional final; area up next

There was no big upset in the Class 4A boys basketball regional last Saturday at the APB.But that doesn’t mean the Jackets aren’t moving on in these playoffs.Top-ranked Weatherford put the clamps on Kingfisher’s offense and steadily pulled away for a 62-21 victory.
