Buck tops 1,000 career points; DHS sweeps Senior Night

Rylee Buck was recognized before - and after - Dover’s dominant win Friday.The Lady Longhorns won their third straight and ninth out of their last 10 by defeating Gracemont 75-28 at home.Buck was one of five seniors recognized prior to the game as it was Dover’s final regular season contest.

Lady Eagles push their win streak to 7

The wins keep on coming for the Hennessey girls basketball team.The Lady Eagles grabbed their seventh straight victory Saturday by holding off Balko/Forgan 36-33 during the Skordle Festival at the Eagle Event Center.

Harvey Dean Rutherford was born to JT and Orine Rutherford on Dec. 25, 1946, in Artesia, N.M. He passed away Jan. 29, 2025, at the age of 78.Harvey married Ramona Taggart in Hennessey on Aug. 25, 1972. They made their home east of Hennessey where they raised their six children.

Lady Jacket grapplers runners-up at Hub City

A pair of champions led the Kingfisher High School girls to a runner-up finish at the Hub City Classic wrestling tournament in Clinton.Rylee Hamil won at 115 pounds and Delissa Evans at 140 pounds.They were joined by two other medalists as KHS scored 46 points.Hinton won the team title with 56.

Teams head to Cache for 5A regional

All three Kingfisher County schools are headed to Cache for the Class 5A girls wrestling regional this month.The regional will be Feb. 17-18. Kingfisher, Cashion and Hennessey have been assigned to the regional.

Sheppard leads KHS pack at Hub City Classic

Kingfisher had a pair of medalists in finishing seventh in the Hub City Classic Wrestling Tournament last weekend.Jaxon Sheppard was the 132-pound runner-up and Mason Alig took bronze at 175 pounds inside the Tornado Dome in Clinton.They led the Jackets to 89 points in the tournament.
