Cashion FFA auction raises over $14K

The Cashion FFA chapter held its Work Day Auction Monday, Jan. 5.This fundraiser is unique being the only one the chapter holds with nearly 100% of the proceeds going directly to benefit the chapter and it was considered a great success.

Waste facility permit hearing slated Tuesday

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission’s court docket dealing with an application for a permit to locate a solid waste processing facility near Hennessey is scheduled Tuesday, Jan. 27, in Oklahoma City.However it’s unknown if it will be held that day, possibly due to the weather.

Just as JD and Hope Smith were preparing for the impending winter storm last week, a devastating fire broke out on their property southeast of Okarche, destroying most everything they owned.Tragically, JD’s mother, who the couple was caring for at the time, lost her life in the fire as well.
