KINGFISHER CITY

KINGFISHER CITY commission voted unanimously Wednesday to award a contract to Well- Co in the amount of $26,750 to repair about 275 feet of the eastbound lane and 50 feet of the westbound lane of Overstreet west of 13th Street. Recent extreme weather events have accelerated the deterioration of the roadway beyond the ability of city crews to make repairs. The project scope includes removing and hauling off old asphalt, repairing the base foundation and replacing the surface with six inches of concrete plus curbs and guttering. Two tinhorns also will be replaced. WellCo’s quote was the lowest of three submitted, including $28,600 from Champion Ops and $31,800 from Bollenbach Construction. [Photo Provided]
