A total of 25 volunteers pitched in to clean up the small lake area and walking trails west of Walter Building Center, organized by Kingfisher Trails Inc. The group collected about 10 dump trailer loads of limbs and filled a roll-off dumpster with trash. Jech and Sanders were attending to present an honorary check representative of operational funds received by the departments from the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Forestry division. The funds are to be used for the day-to-day expenses of operating the fire departments. The monies distributed are accounted for annually to the rural fire coordinator. Each department received $4,641.52, an increase of about 10 percent from last year.
