Carlos “John” Casto, 77, passed from this life on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, at his home in Yukon after a lengthy illness. He was born Dec. 18, 1944, in Canton, Ohio, a son of the late Joseph and Audrey (Conner) Casto. A graduate of Doylestown High School in Doylestown, Ohio, he was then drafted into the United States Army, stationed in Korea.

After receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, he worked various jobs, ultimately driving a semi-truck delivering gas and pulling a flatbed, a job he had dreamed of as a little boy.

He loved his job and his trucks, for which he received many awards from the employers.

He was employed by Yellow Freight in Cleveland, Ohio, and then transferred to Oklahoma City in 1991.

He was also employed by BLT Tanks of Kingfisher.

His career as a true professional truck driver continued for 54 years before retiring.

John married Judith “Judy” on Sept. 17, 1994, sharing 28 years of marriage.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Casto; brothers-in-law Don Lane and Jack Carver; and grandparents.

John is survived by his wife Judith “Judy” Casto of the home; brothers, Don Casto of Fyffe, Ala., and Joey (Francie) Casto of Marshallville, Ohio; sisters Margaret Lane of Coshocton, Ohio, and Arlene Carver of Doylestown, Ohio; children, Andrew (Teresa) Casto of Idaho Springs, Colo., and Julie (Josh) Rodriquez of Yukon; stepchildren, Kelly (Rick) Brozak of Pittsboro, Ind., and Robin Reardon (Wes Tezorski) of Oroville, Wash.; grandchildren, Jeffrey Casto, Hannah, Cody, EmmaLee and Jacob Rodriquez, James Pitts and Braden, Camden, Lyndon and Adisyn Brozak; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to Elara Caring Hospice Foundation at elarahospicefoundation. org or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org.
