Dorothy Spencer

Dorothy Lee Spencer, 92, passed away July 14, 2023.

She was born on March 13, 1931, in Crescent to Bill and Cecil Powers. She grew up on the farm with her parents and her sister, Juanita.

Dorothy graduated from Big Four High School in 1947.

She married James “Jim” Spencer in December 1950 and moved to Yukon in 1968 where they resided for the remainder of their years together.

She dedicated her career to the energy industry working for companies such as OG&E and Sohio. She concluded her career working for a petroleum consultant, retiring on March 16, 1996. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Jamie Spencer, granddaughter Rachel Spencer and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Dorothy enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved to cook, play cards with friends, scrapbook, garden and looked forward to attending every activity of her girls.

Her selfless spirit, patience, loyalty and love will be long remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to The Alzheimer’s Association or The American Heart Association.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 20, at the Crosspointe Church in Crescent.

Graveside services will be held at Oakland-Knowles Cemetery in Crescent following the service.
