Hazel Jean Chestnut, 85, of Dover, went to her heavenly home Monday, Oct. 17, 2022.

Hazel was born Sept. 18, 1937, in Austin, Texas, to Florence and Ray Thompson.

She married Bruce Chestnut on Dec. 24, 1954.

Hazel was a caretaker and babysat many children over the years. She attended Dover Baptist Church and regarded all who went there as family.

She is survived by her three sons, Chuck and wife Vonnie, Don and wife Debbie, Brian and wife Jennifer; grandchildren Jarred and Tabitha Adams, Mandi Adams, Rachel and Heath Robinson, Sarah and Jesse Maxwell, Casey Chestnut, Joey and Trish Chestnut, Kristen and Earl Hartfield, Allie, Madison, Magen and McKinley Chestnut; sisters Sue and husband Wayne Cranford of Ponca City and Cindy Womack of Ponca City.

She has 13 great-grandc hildren, three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, all of whom loved and adored her.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband; parents; stepdad Grover Kelly; brothers Tommy, Butch and Leon Thompson; sister Mary Jo Pemberton; and granddaughter Amber Dawn Chestnut.

Graveside services were Friday, Oct. 21, at Dover Cemetery. Pastors Billy Bowen and Tommy Mosier officiated.
