Karina Saldaña Castro, 38, passed away April 15, 2023, in Omega.

She was born Jan. 13, 1985, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, to Jose de Jesus Saldaña Vargas and Ma Regina Castro Salazar.

She was a loving wife to Froylan Rivera and was a mother to four wonderful children.

Karina met her husband in Mexico and got together a few months later and they followed the American dream. Once they arrived, family helped them get to Arkansas.

This is where they had their first daughter, Dafne Kelly.

Later they moved to Kingfisher and then to Omega.

This is where they had their youngest kids, Diego and Froylan.

A couple of years later they decided to unite in marriage. They got married at St. Joseph Catholic Church in 2013.

One of her biggest dreams was to get a beautiful home of their own and with a lot of hard work they bought it in Omega, where they quickly became part of a beautiful community.

She worked cleaning houses and churches nearby.

She was a hardworking woman. She put her best effort in everything that she did.

Karina was an outgoing person and loved making everyone laugh. It didn’t matter if she was having a bad day, she would always have a smile on her face.

She had a very contagious smile and just by entering the room she would light up that room and would make everyone and anyone feel welcomed. Karina enjoyed going to all her kids’ games; she would always be on a bench cheering them on. She was their number one fan and supporter.

Karina loved listening to music. Eminem and Selena were her favorite artists.

She also enjoyed listening to Don Cheto. Her favorite thing to do after the show was over was to call her siblings to talk about the radio show and how funny his topics of the day were.

Her favorite color was pink and her hobbies were playing Wordscapes with baby and scrolling through Facebook commenting on her friends’ posts, leaving funny and loving comments.

Even though everyone says she has four kids, in reality she had five. Her youngest was her baby cat, Bolillo.

Karina loved spending time with all her family and sharing a glass of Stella Rosa wine.

She was a true friend to many.

Karina is survived by her husband, Froylan Rivera; children Carlos, Dafne, Diego and Froylan; parents Ma Regina and Jose de Jesus Saldana; seven siblings, Rocio, Griselda, Gabriel, Rafa, Oscar, Rufino and Jose.

Mass of Christian Burial for Karina will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 24, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Kingfisher with burial following at Kingfisher Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.
