Keith Eldon Best passed on Friday, Oct. 28, 2022, at his home near Crescent, surrounded by his loved ones.

Keith was born Nov. 1, 1938, in Kingfisher County to James Raymond and Mable (née Porter) Best. He attended Big Four and Kingfisher schools.

He met the love of his life, Elma Jean (née Murray), and married her on Jan. 10, 1958.

Keith and Elma Jean lived in several states during Keith’s time as a surveyor, but they settled in Oklahoma where they bought a farm in Crescent.

This is where they raised their four children, Janet, Vicky, Deanna and Bryan.

Keith loved raising cattle and farming.

His uncle, Don Best, was an amazing help in this.

Anyone who knew Keith was aware of what he had overcome and his ability to do anything he set his mind to.

Keith taught his children these same traits: to be honest, hard-working, have strength in times of adversity and to never say “can’t.”

To his children, he was not just Dad, but Superman.

Keith was preceded in death by this mother and father, brothers Melvin and Boyd, sister Carol and great-grandson Knox.

He is survived by his wife Elma Jean; his brother Max Best and wife Anne of Rocklin, Calif.; and four children, Janet Rogers of Stillwater, Vicky Allen and husband David of Edmond, Deanna Dugger and partner Scott Barnett of Crescent and Bryan Best and wife Linda of Crescent.

Keith is also survived by many greatly loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held in December.
