Leo Edward Meyer went to be with the Lord on May 16, 2023, at the age of 89. Leo was born on Jan. 26, 1934, to Edward and Margaret Meyer. He grew up in Okarche, where he graduated from Holy Trinity High School. After graduation, he served as a member of the U.S. Army for six years.

He later met and married Mable Ruth Eaton on Feb. 7, 1959.

They made their home in Okarche where they were married for 60 years. They had 2 daughters, Lori and Kimberly.

Leo worked for Temtrol for 42 years as one of the first employees when it opened. During that time, he also worked at Maschino meat packing plant.

He proudly served on the Okarche Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years, where he served as fire chief during part of that time.

He enjoyed farming and raising cattle.

He was also a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus.

Leo is survived by his daughters Lori Crawford and husband Ray and Kimberly Annuschat and husband Thomas; grandchildren Shari and Chris Black, Kristina and Brian Mueggenborg, Clark and Jordyn Crawford, and Kelsey and Dillon Ellis; great-grandchildren Ember, Latham and Harper Black, Preston and Blake Mueggenborg, Elayna and Wesley Crawford, and Hayli, Rhett, Landon, Bennett and Annie Ellis; one sister, Josephine Benda, and two brothers Art Meyer and Edward Meyer.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mable and two sisters, Lavern Hauenstein and Pauline Meyer.

Rosary will be at 7 p.m., Sunday, May 21, and funeral services at 10 a.m. Monday, May 22, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Okarche. Burial will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
