Reita Mae (Terrell) Walker, 85, of Dover, passed peacefully on April 27, 2023 at Bradford Village Nursing Care Center in Edmond, OK where she had been a resident since November 2020.

Reita was born to Walter Melvin Terrell and Anna Josephine (Mauk) Terrell in Dover on July 05, 1937.

She married Gordon Leo Walker on April 14, 1968, and made their home with their three sons east of Dover.

Reita was a wonderful wife and mother and had many interests, talents and skills that included gardening, canning, painting and bowling.

Reita retired from Zales Jewelers in Enid on Dec. 12, 2014, after 19 years of service and it was a job and profession she enjoyed very much. She received many service awards and accolades from both the corporate office and customers and made many lifelong friends.

Reita is survived by her sons Larry Walker and wife Candy of Hennessey, Leo Walker and wife Shellie of Mustang and Jerry Walker of Oklahoma City; sister Laura June Cerny of Kingfi sher and brother Melvin Terrell and wife Donna Kay of Dover; grandchildren Stephanie Farrell and husband Scott of Kingfisher, Nicole Eaton and husband Eric of Caldwell, Kan., Melissa Brake and husband Vernon of Edmond, Shaun Walker of Cordell, Amanda Kelly of Mustang, Christopher Walker and wife Bernice of Yukon, Amy Walker of Mustang, Shaianne Holsapple and husband Dalton of Hennessey, Crystal Thornton and Santana Melendez of Hennessey; great-grandchildren Madison, Mia and Christian Far-rell, Sam, Zak, Keelen and Channing Eaton, Hayden and Dawson Brake, Max, Cade, Braydon and Ryan Walker, Lucas and Jaxson Walker, Espn Selman and Tyler and Sylas; nieces and nephews and many life-long friends.

Reita was preceded in death by her husband Gordon Walker, parents Walter and Anna Terrell, brother-in-law George Cerny, parents-in-law Elvice and Allene Walker and great-grandchild Anya Walker.

A special mention of thanks and gratitude for the extraordinary care and support to the nursing and support staff at Bradford Village Nursing Care Center, especially caregivers Leatrice Danford, Ruth Baker and Brandi Brooks and to the care team at Traditions Health Hospice of Edmond, especially nurse Shannon Urda and nursing assistant Keri Reichling.

Lastly, many thanks to Matt at the Neptune Society in Edmond and friend Billy Smith for his friendship, support and extraordinary skill in decorating Reita’s room and providing her comfort and support.

Memorial Services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Friday, May 12, at the Dover Christian Church, officiated by pastor Grant Curtis.
