Wanda ‘Wendy’ Johnson

Wanda Jean “Wendy” Collins Johnson, 79, Edmond, passed away June 19, 2023, at Integris Health Hospital in Edmond.

Services were 9 a.m. Saturday, June 24, at Baggerley Funeral Home in Edmond.

Wendy was born Aug. 10, 1943, in Guthrie to Delmar and Reba (Neighbors) Collins.

She graduated from Edmond High School and later earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Central Oklahoma.

She taught English and journalism at Putnam City (1964-1968 and 19691972) and then Kingfisher High School (1977-1991).

She is survived by son Eric Johnson and wife Debbie of Oklahoma City; son Adam Johnson and wife Carolyn of Yukon; brother Dennis Collins of Arizona; and grandchildren Mason Johnson, Sydney Johnson and Colin Johnson.

Wendy was preceded in death by her parents, maternal grandparents Robert L. and Susie Neighbors, paternal grandparents Irvin C. and Zola (McMahan) Collins and sister Rebecca “Becky” (Collins) Peek.
