JH girls run strong at Bethany XC meet

The seventh and eighth grade girls teams from Kingfisher made a strong showing last Tuesday at the Bethany Bronchos Cross Country Meet for junior high teams. The eighth grade Lady Jackets won their division while the seventh grade girls were second in theirs. For the eighth grade, all five of the runners’ scores that counted toward the team total were in the top-15. The team posted just 42 points, easily beating second-place Heartland, which had 68. Edmond Summit was third with 73. Peyton Walker paced the squad with a fourth-place finish, running the course in 10:01. Her placing toward the team standings was third.
(Note: Not all schools bring complete teams, so individual placings and team placings can differ.)
Emmy Lunsford was one second behind her in fifth (fourth). Ashley Casillas was 18th overall but her team placing was ninth. Also for the eighth grade team, McKenna Auringer was 24th (12th), Julianna Meza 27th (14th), Keira Hine 38th (22nd) and Laney Rose 45th (29th). The seventh grade girls scored 66 points. Central won the meet with 46. Hefner was third with 93. Scout Snodgrass led the way with a fifth place finish in 10:23. Her run was good for fourth in the team standings. Raegan Snider was ninth (eighth) in 10:32. Liberty Starr was up next in 15th (13th) while Talor Mecklenburg was 22nd (20th), Lily Lunsford 23rd (21st), Hailey Bieren 40th (33rd) and Terry Ann McCully 51st (41st).
