Altar Society holds January meeting

The Sts. Peter & Paul Altar Society met Wednesday, Jan. 8, for fellowship and food.The meeting was called to order by President Ann Finley at 7 p.m.The business meeting was held prior to this month’s lesson. Minutes were read by Secretary Carol Morkes and approved as read.

Free ‘green cleaning’ workshop

Kingfisher County Extension is presenting a lesson soon on the topic of green cleaning.The lesson will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday,[See Cleaning, Page 10] Jan. 22.The lesson will focus on what green cleaning is and what to look for in your products.

Cashion splits games at OBA

Cashion got its crack at ending Oklahoma Bible Academy’s perfect start to the season.It’s still intact. Class 2A’s sixth-ranked OBA got 19 points from Lilyan Walden on Tuesday en route to defeating No. 13 Cashion 56-42 in Enid.OBA, the state runner- up in Class A a season ago, is now 10-0.

Tournaments playing schedule musical chairs

The snow that covered much of Oklahoma on Thursday also did a number on the schedules of numerous basketball tournaments.All six Kingfisher County schools were affected.Dover and Lomega were taking part in the Mulhall-Orldando Invitational.Games began on Thursday, but were eventually postponed.
