Rotary Club hosts 4 KHS seniors

Four Kingfisher High School seniors were guests recently at a meeting of the Kingfisher Rotary Club.Joining the local civic group were Jaden Bain, Ariana Rivera, Kamryn Purintun and Karen Muñoz.Bain is the son of Josh and Beverly Bain.

Recent local traffic accidents

The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department:October 23 - At 1500 S. 13th St. — A 16-year-old male, Kingfisher, driving a 2020 Jeep Cherokee, was parked in a parking space at Kingfisher High School, 1500 S. 13th St.

Banther reflects as retirement nears

An era ends at the Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office when 2024 comes to a close.It will mark the retirement of Sheriff Dennis Banther after 20 years in that role and nearly 30 years of service to the sheriff’s office overall.

• Kingfisher’s annual Christmas parade will take place at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. Presented by the Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce, the theme this year is “Cowboy Christmas”and will once again be followed by the fireworks and laser show on downtown Main Street.

Nearly 300 educators and artists from across Oklahoma gathered at the Oklahoma Fall Arts Institute (OFAI) for a series of intensive weekend workshops, designed to enhance their skills in literary, visual, and performing arts while earning professional development credit.
