Oklahoma Broadband Office receives further grant funding

The Oklahoma Broadband Office (OBO) has been approved for an $11.2 million grant from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) to help new internet users effectively access the internet and learn about online services.

Printing early next weekend

The Sunday, Dec. 1, edition of the Times & Free Press will be printed several days ahead of normal printing times.Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the newspaper’s printer will be closed Friday, Nov. 29, which is when the weekend edition is normally printed.

City calls for special election

Voters in Kingfisher will have the opportunity next year to vote to extend a sales tax to fully fund the construction of a new fire station.City commissioners voted last Tuesday to call for a special election on Jan. 14, 2025.

Kingfisher no longer having early-release days once a month

Kingfisher Public Schools has eliminated the monthly early-release days.The district announced the move in a message to patrons on Wednesday.“After some careful consideration, we have decided to eliminate all early dismissals moving forward for the remainder of the school year,” the message read.

Day care costs to go up for KPS staff
