Hennessey parking issues discussed, decided

DA files excise board response to KPS

The Kingfisher County Excise Board acted within its lawful duties and Kingfisher Public Schools doesn’t meet the burden needed to obtain a writ of mandamus.That’s according to a response filed by District Attorney Tommy Humphries with the Oklahoma Supreme Court last week.

KPS files $7 million claim with OSRMT

Kingfisher Public Schools is attempting to recoup more than $7 million that has been spent or is dedicated to a settled civil lawsuit.The school district on Monday officially filed a claim with the bankruptcy executor for the Oklahoma Schools Risk Management Trust.The claim was for $7,151,580.62.

Early voting begins next Wednesday

In-person absentee voting for the Nov. 5 general election will begin on Wednesday, Oct 30, and end on Saturday, Nov. 2, Kingfisher County Election Board Secretary Shawna Butts announced.“You do not need to provide an excuse to vote early,” Butts said.

Bookcase Review Club set to meet next Monday
