Calm Construction bid approved for extension office

Kingfisher County commissioners took action on three bid items Monday at their weekly meeting.Calm Construction Co. of Yukon submitted the low bid of $1,059,000 to build the new Kingfisher County OSU Extension office.Calm pledged to complete the structure in 36 weeks’ time.

Tyrel McLane of M6 Wrecker & Recovery was the guest speaker at last week’s Kingfisher Lions Club. A Kingfisher native, McLane started the company with his brother Tyson in April 2022. In its beginning, the company had two trucks and took 20 to 30 calls a month.

Lenten services continue this week

The annual Lenten Community Service series sponsored by the Kingfisher Ministerial Alliance continue this week and will run through March 27.Each of the weekly services – with the exception of the final service on March 27 – will begin at noon and will be held at Frontline Ministries, 124 W. Erwin.
