School board launches new search

Kingfisher Public Schools’ Board of Education will be conducting its second superintendent search in as many years.Board members on Monday received a letter of resignation from Dr. Daniel Craig, who was hired for the position on May 3 of last year. The resignation is effective June 30.

Cloud to ground lightning strikes during a fierce electrical storm early Saturday morning are suspected in a tank explosion and fire at Drilling Fluids Technology, northwest of Kingfisher.Kingfisher Fire Department received a call at 2:35 a.m.

Three children killed in Crescent residential fire

Three sisters all under the age of 5 apparently died in a late Sunday morning house fire at 306 S. Oak St., Crescent.The three girls were found dead in the remains of a shed where the fire is believed to have started before spreading to the house.
