City discusses fire station sites

City Attorney Jared Harrison reported Monday night that owners of two properties the city considers suitable sites for the new fire department had not responded to certified letters asking whether they were amenable to sell.

County OKs HFD expansion

Kingfisher County commissioners approved plans of the Hennessey Fire Department to expand its station using designated county sales tax funds for the project at their weekly meeting Monday.As an accompanying agenda item, they approved hiring AIP architects for design work.

Jay Wood’s tenure as Kingfisher High School principal won’t be lasting very long. For good reason.On Wednesday night, Wood was approved as the new superintendent and high school principal at Dover.He was approved by a 3-0 vote of board members Larry Harviston, Nathan Guinn and Tom O’Hern.

Dover farmer-rancher named CARE champion

Frank Caldwell of Dover has been named a Conservation and Agriculture Reach Everyone (CARE) Champion by the Oklahoma Black Historical Research Project.The CARE project’s objective is to increase minority and veteran participation in USDA programs in Oklahoma and Texas.
