Kingfisher County missed tornadoes but got a heapin’ helpin’ of flooding in May.Kingfisher ended May with a total of 17.02 inches of rain for the month and a year-to-date total of 27.19 inches of moisture, a little more than eight inches under its average annual rainfall of 35.

The sixth annual Gift of Love Gala hosted by the Center of Family Love and the Oklahoma Knights of Columbus will be held June 15 at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.

During the spring semester of 2018-19, the Lomega Youth Action Council presented health lessons to the school’s elementary students. Lessons included TAR WARS, an anti-tobacco program. The program focused on the dangers of smoking, chewing tobacco, vaping and second-hand smoke.

Local motorcyclist Misty Prophet has been chosen to lead a group of women riders to the Women’s Freedom Ride Rally in Topeka, Kan., June 13-15. The group will be traveling by motorcycles approximately 2,500 miles in nine days.
