Kingfisher County Excise-Equalization Board member Tony Stangl of Okarche recently submitted a letter of resignation. County commissioners discussed a training program for new excise board members at their meeting Monday. However, no new member has been appointed as yet to succeed Stangl.

Kingfisher Public Schools received a positive report Monday from its annual audit. “Overall the school is in excellent financial condition and the records are in good shape,” said James Kuykendall of Britton, Kuykendall and Miller CPAs, the firm that handles the school district’s audit.

Albert W. “Al” Post, 89, longtime Kingfisher County business, professional and faith leader, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Kingfisher. He was born Aug. 23, 1929, near Okarche to W.B. “Bill” and Sarah Gleichman Post.

Hennessey United’s annual Red Carpet Night is set for Thursday, April 11. The event is to honor members and volunteers of all local clubs, along with school organizations and community volunteers. The United board set the date at their Jan. 17 meeting.

Okarche High School recently announced some of its top students for December 2018. Named the Lion and Lioness for the month (pictured left) were junior Carsyn Taylor, left, and senior Cris Avila.

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Oklahoma Centennial Farm and Ranch program, the Oklahoma Historical Society is sponsoring a new book, “Oklahoma Centennial Farms & Ranches.” The book will celebrate our centennial farms and ranches, and Oklahoma’s agricultural history.
