Hennessey Public Schools has a food pantry available for all students and their families. The only requirement is to have a student attending Hennessey Schools or the Head Start program. All inquiries will be confidential.

Kingfisher High School seniors Callie Ford, Nayeli Gutierrez and Destiney Arevalo were guests last Tuesday of the Kingfisher Rotary Club. Ford is the daughter of Melissa and Dan Collins. She is a member of the KHS band and is the secretary of HOSA.

KT&FP Managing Editor Add one more to Kerri Lafferty’s list of accomplishments that had never been done by her predecessors. Lafferty on Saturday was voted by her peers as girls cross country coach of the year by the Oklahoma Cross Country and Track Coaches Association.

A head-on injury accident closed S.H. 33 a half mile east of Kingfisher for more than three hours Monday morning as emergency responders worked to clear the roadway, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.

Hennessey school superintendent Dr. Mike Woods said they have 31 juniors and seniors in career tech classes at Chisholm Trail Technology Center in Omega. He said some students drive themselves while others ride buses.

With a squad of only eight members, the Okarche speech team was able to amass enough points to bring home the sweepstakes trophy in Class 3A from the Duncan High School Invitational.   Held Friday and Saturday, Jan. 18-19, the competition drew contestants from eight schools in Class 3A.

Kingfisher High School seniors Bree Taylor and Lane Dobrovolny have been announced as the Junior Lions for January 2019. Taylor is the daughter of Bill and Brooke Taylor. She is active in FFA, National Honor Society, Oklahoma Honor Society, student council, FCA, BPA, basketball and softball.

House Majority Leader Mike Sanders recently commented on being named to various House committees for the 57th  Legislature, which includes 2019 and 2020.

Jared and Rachel Krittenbrink of Piedmont announce the birth of their son, Karter Stanley. He was born at 5:09 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. Karter weighed 8 pounds, 15 ounces and measured 22 inches. He has one brother, Kash, who is 1 1/2.
