The filing period for Kingfisher County municipal positions will be held from Monday, Feb. 4, through Wednesday, Feb. 6, at the Kingfisher County Election Board office at the courthouse in Kingfisher.

Two hot-button community development projects led to a record-setting Kingfisher planning and zoning meeting Thursday that lasted nearly two and a half hours and drew a standing room only crowd.

Kingfisher County commissioner approved requests from several fire departments to seek bids for equipment upgrades at their weekly meeting Tuesday. Fire departments making requests included: Hennessey –  request for a new brush truck pump. Cashion – 2019 tanker truck apparatus.

It’s hard to imagine a young family would give up full-time life in the Cayman Islands to move to Kingfisher, but new residents Daniel and Miranda Mayfield believe they are right where they belong.

Jason Sternberger presented Kingfisher Rotarians and guests with a narrative of the football travels of his oldest son following his graduation from Kingfisher High School in 2015.

Pioneer is hosting a presentation Monday as part of Data Privacy Day. The presentation, centering on privacy and online safety, will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Jan. 28 at Kingfisher Memorial Library. It will be conducted by Chad Kliewer, Pioneer’s information security office.

Every local basketball team except Hennessey is taking part in a tournament this weekend.

Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s Department of Education in Weatherford is sending out 44 teacher candidates to work with approximately 60 cooperating teachers from 47 different schools in Oklahoma, North Carolina and Texas.
