Wilson hits milestone, Duffy shines in Lomega victory

Last Friday had the potential to be a banner night for Lomega’s Adysen Wilson. The junior was sitting 16 points shy of 1,000 career points, an attainable number since she averages around 20. However, Wilson realized on the way to Drummond that she’d taken the wrong jersey.

Cashion dethrones Eagles in OT

When it comes to regular season crowns, Hennessey has been king of the Three Rivers Conference. Cashion finally found a way to dethrone the Eagles last week. T.J. Roberts’ putback with four seconds left in overtime helped propel Cashion to a 44-42 victory Wednesday at Hennessey.

McCabe sets high jump PR

Cashion’s Madelyn McCabe closed out her senior indoor track and field season last Friday on quite the “high” note. McCabe cleared a personal-best 5 feet, 8 inches to win the high jump at the Oklahoma High School Invitational held at the University of Oklahoma in Norman.

Cashion’s Baker, Nabavi to continue football careers

Two of the pivotal components of Cashion’s run to the 2019 Class A state runner-up finish signed last week to continue their football careers. Pictured at the bottom left are Alex Nabavi (left) and Ryan Baker. Nabavi signed to play at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee.

Jackets overcome slow pace to beat 'Darko

You’ve reached a certain celebrity status when fans from the opposing team want their picture taken with you after the game. Bijan Cortes has apparently reached that status. Cortes led Kingfisher to its 41st straight win last Friday as the Jackets toppled Anadarko 48-29 on the road.

Drummond no match for Lomega’s squads

With the regular season nearing its end, the Lomega boys were able to pick up an easy road win. The Raiders got double figures from three players in Friday’s 67-28 victory at Drummond. The “easy” part didn’t come until after the first quarter.

KHS headed to Tuttle for 4A wrestling regional

The OSSAA announced assignments for wrestling regionals last week. Kingfisher will be a part of the 4A west regional at Tuttle. The host school is the current defending state champ and also ranked No. 1 in the class. Cashion will take part in a 3A regional at Geary. Wrestling regionals are Feb.

Okarche girls grab big win at 2A #9 Am-Po

Okarche got its second straight win over a top-10 foe. Now, with its final regular season game, the Lady Warriors can also wrap up another title. Okarche’s offense finally came alive in the fourth quarter as it defeated Class 2A No. 9 Amber-Pocasset 38-35 on the road last Friday.

Perry picks up sweep of Hennessey

Perry got the best of a battle of ranked 3A squads Friday night in what could also be a playoff preview. The 10th-ranked Maroons escaped No. 12 Hennessey with a 56-50 victory. Three Eagles scored in double figures…but also only three Eagles scored on the night.
