The week of all weeks had quite the start Monday for the Cashion boys basketball team. In the first of three consecutive days of games - and four in five days - the Wildcats knocked off Highway 74 rival Crescent 80-32 on the road. The game wasn’t a four-quarter blowout.

The scoreboard read that No. 1 Anadarko defeated the Kingfisher Lady Jackets 47-39 last Friday night. And, if you’re wondering, KHS girls head coach Gerrett Spears said he’s not big into moral victories.

Cashion sweeps Seiling

Just before Cashion’s schedule gets really difficult, Seiling wanted to make sure nothing came easy for the Wildcats. The Cashion defense got a stop with two seconds left Thursday night to help it hold on to a 56-54 home win over Seiling.

Hennessey grabs road sweep over Harding Fine Arts

If the Hennessey boys basketball team is hitting from the 3-point line, the Eagles are tough to beat. They displayed some of that early Tuesday in a 54-41 victory over Harding Fine Arts in Oklahoma City. In building a 22-7 first-quarter lead, the Eagles buried six 3-point shots.

Lady Jackets dominate Bethany, 58-31

Fresh off two games against top-five teams and with another on the horizon this weekend, the Kingfisher girls basketball team needed an easy night. The Lady Jackets got it Tuesday at Bethany. From opening tip until final buzzer, Kingfisher controlled the Lady Bronchos for a 58-31 win on the road.

Myers signs with NWOSU

Riley Myers kept up a family tradition last week. The Kingfisher High School senior on Thursday signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his football career at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva.

Balance lifts Wildcats past Chisholm; Lady ‘Horns surge

A balanced attack for Cashion that included solid shooting spelled doom for Chisholm last Friday. The Wildcats shot better than 50 percent overall and had three players in double figures as they bested Chisholm 71-43 at the Downtown Enid Basketball Festival at the Stride Bank Center.

Even in an unfamiliar gym, Lomega keeps finding a way to light up the scoreboard. The Lady Raiders on Saturday knocked down 17 3-pointers as part of their 86-37 victory over Hennessey in the Downtown Enid Basketball Festival at the Stride Bank Center.

Lady Warriors shock Calumet, avenge loss

With a little more health and a lot more determination, Okarche got its biggest win of the season. The fourth-ranked Lady Warriors avenged one of their two losses Saturday by knocking off No. 3 Calumet 54-47 on the road in a showdown of two of Class A’s contenders.
