Head coach Lynn Shackelford wanted his football team to impose its will on Barnsdall last week. The Wildcats did that for the most part and Mother Nature took care of the rest as Cashion advanced to the Class A semifinals with a 28-6 victory on the road.

Wrestling, basketball seasons start Tuesday

Wrestling and basketball seasons offi cially begin this week for Kingfi sher High School teams. The KHS wrestling squad will open the season Tuesday, Dec. 3, at home against Weatherford. The dual will be held at the APB. Junior high teams will begin at 6 p.m.

Union City no match for Lomega

Lomega dialed up a long distance homecoming win against Union City. The Lady Raiders buried 15 3-pointers as part of an 84–47 victory last Friday night. The sharpshooting helped improve Lomega to 4-2 entering the Thanksgiving break. Prior to the game, Hensley Eaton was crowned homecoming queen.

OBA sweep spoils Dover homecoming night

Oklahoma Bible Academy used a dominant third quarter last Friday to spoil Dover’s basketball homecoming. Prior to the games, Yazaret Gamez and Trinton Ritz were crowned homecoming queen and king. In the boys game, the Trojans outscored the host squad 14-4 in the third en route to a 65-52 victory.

Warriors earn big comeback win

Aaron West said it was like watching two different teams. The Okarche boys basketball coach watched his Warriors dig themselves a 15-point deficit last Friday night only to come away with a 54-44 homecoming win against Oklahoma Christian Academy. “It was a tale of two halves,” West said.

Obeso signs with Texas Tech, Neal with Emporia State

Two former Kingfisher County baseball standouts will be teammates for one more season, but will venture their different ways afterward. Austin Neal and Miguel Obeso signed last month to continue their baseball careers at four-year schools.

Lincoln Christian overpowers KHS

Kingfisher has played its share of top-notch football teams in 2019. From Bethany to Tuttle to Heritage Hall to Perkins-Tryon, the Jackets have met up with title contenders in multiple classes. It might very well have played the best of the bunch last Friday night.
