Raiders snap 2-decade streak

Some names have changed but some were certainly the same Tuesday night when history was made inside Lomega High School’s gym. The Raiders defeated Okarche 58-36 in an impressive showing against their rival to improve to 2-0 on the season.

No comebacks allowed this time

History didn’t repeat itself Thursday night… and that’s a good thing for Kingfi sher. The Yellowjackets capped their 2019 regular season with a 43-26 win over seventh-ranked John Marshall at Taft Stadium in Oklahoma City.

Opening night a success in Okarche

The head coach was wearing a suit. The old chalkboard was put to use. Okarche got a win. It was just like countless other Friday nights in Okarche High School basketball history, except it wasn’t.

Wilmoth comes up big in Crescent win

Hunter Wilmoth did a little bit of everything last week as Crescent picked up its fourth win of the season. The junior scored on a long run play and then an even longer interception return Friday night to lift the Tigers to a 15-0 home win against Healdton.

Cashion is prowling for another A-3 title

One down. The big one to go. Cashion pulled away last Friday from one potential obstacle en route to a desired district championship by defeating Crossings Christian School 44-24. The Wildcats are now 8-0 overall and 5-0 in District A-3.

KHS playoff spot secured

Kingfisher pushed its run to two full decades of consecutive playoff appearances with its most recent win. Cade Stephenson accounted for six touchdowns and Mount St. Mary provided almost no resistance as KHS rattled off a 61-0 victory in front of a Senior Night crowd.

Lomega opens roundball season with Dover sweep

The points came in droves for Lomega as it opened the 2019-20 season last Friday night. The Lady Raiders scored nearly at will through three quarters as they nabbed an 84-33 road win at Dover.

CHS is Game Day state runner-up

Cashion High School cheer repeated Saturday as state runner-up of the OSSAA’s Class 2A Game Day state competition. For the second straight year, Cashion finished behind Turpin. Cashion was fourth after the preliminary round which included categories for fight song, crowd leading and band dance.

Kingfisher’s 8th graders cap season with big win at Cashion

Kingfisher’seighthgrade football team wrapped up its 2019 campaign on a strong note last Monday. The Jackets beat Cash-ion 42-0 on the road to end their season at 4-4. On a cold, blustery day, it was the run game that carried KMS to the win.
