New Dover coach set for debut

In talking with people around Dover High School, there’s a prevailing feeling about new boys basketball coach Aaron Norton. “He’s a really good guy,” was echoed by everyone from Principal Kyle Karns to baseball coach Dylan Blundell to girls basketball coach Byron Randle.

Lomega boys, Individual girls qualify for state XC meet

The Lomega boys will be among the field in the Class 2A state cross country meet. The Raiders were third at their regional last Saturday in Enid. Lomega had 125 points. Mooreland won it with 32 and Hooker was second with 75. Lomega edged Hammon’s 128 points.

KHS earns spots at state XC meet

Ashtin Witt had never medaled in a regional meet. Until Saturday, that is. The Kingfisher High School senior ran to a 12th place finish at the Class 4A girls cross country regional championship held in Enid.

Short-handed Hennessey slowed by OCS

Hennessey was reduced to a one-dimensional offense Thursday night. That didn’t bode well for the Eagles, who are still searching for their first win. Oklahoma Christian School scored 31 first-quarter points and rolled to a 59-7 win over Hennessey in Edmond.

Demons take down Kingfisher

To beat Perkins-Tryon, according to head coach Jeff Myers, the Kingfisher Yellowjackets were going to have to put together their best performance of the season to date. “We’ll have to play solid for four quarters and have a clean game,” Myers said.
