Junior high, JV football report

As seventh graders, this year’s crop of eighth grade football players were defeated by Chisholm. Kingfisher returned the favor Monday night by knocking off the Longhorns 12-8 in the eighth grade junior high game at Chisholm.

KHS softball playoff chances take a hit

Playoff chances for the Kingfisher High School softball team took a big hit last week. The Lady Jackets dropped three District 4A-1 contests, including a double-header sweep Tuesday at Blackwell. That was preceded by Monday’s loss at McLoud, which knocked off KHS to start the season.

Crescent upset bid denied

Kingfisher cross country coach Kerri Lafferty couldn’t help but be at least a little giddy on Saturday. In just one week, her cross country teams showed considerable improvement, most notably the reigning Class 4A state champion girls squad.
