Okeene tried to rally late in the first half.Dover would have none of it in the third quarter.The Lady Longhorns won for the eighth time in nine games Tuesday as they downed visiting Okeene 53-32.

Two days.Two tournaments.Two cities.Two championships.That’s what the Kingfisher junior high girls wrestling team accomplished last weekend as they brought home team titles from both the Clinton Middle School/Junior High Hub City Tournament and the Yukon Ladies Invitational.

It’s safe to say Lomega all but owns the Cherokee Strip Conference Tournament championship.The Lady Raiders made it 10 in a row Saturday night when they downed Class B’s 17th-ranked Medford 62-44 in the championship game at Pioneer-Pleasant Vale High School.

Camdyn Richardson continued his torrid pace and it helped bring Hennessey another Yale Tournament championship.The Hennessey senior followed up Thursday’s school-record 56-point performance with 37 in the semifinals and then another 21 in the championship.

They found a way.Taylor Young knows that’s all that matters.Kingfisher won the girls championship of the Buckle of the Wheatbelt Invitational on Saturday by escaping Weatherford with a 46-45 victory in the championship game.

3rd time’s a charm for Cashion girls

Cashion needed this one…in more ways than one.The Lady Wildcats got their biggest win of the season Saturday as they upset 2A’s eighth-ranked Riverside 50-45 to win their own Cashion County Line Tournament.It was Cashion’s first time to win its own tournament since 2018.

Boomers sidetrack Jackets’ title hopes

Kingfisher’s quest to return to the top of the Buckle of the Wheatbelt Invitational was derailed by a bunch of Boomers.The kind from Woodward.The Boomers continued their upward trend Saturday by knocking off the Jackets 65-56 in the championship game of the tournament.

Long time in the making

Dover managed just one field goal and 10 points in the second half of the boys championship game of the Skeltur Conference Tournament on Saturday night.The Longhorns scored only five points in the middle two quarters and 23 for the game.
