Lomega opens season with Dover sweep

Lance Yost and Chase Burton took care of a majority of the offense.All of the Raiders contributed to the defense.The result stifled visiting Dover’s production on the offensive end as Lomega picked up a 39-33 victory Friday night in the basketball season opener for both teams.

A second grader at Kingfisher Heritage School has discovered a love for golf...and has some new hardware to show for it. Annie Kate Redwine is the daughter of Drew and Lesley Redwine. Annie Kate had played a little golf recreationally, but began to take it more seriously in April.

Montoya boots Hennessey to last-second victory

Hennessey’s playoff chances got a major boost Friday night and it had a lot to do with the toe of Luis Montoya.The kicker booted a 21-yard field goal with just three seconds left to lift the Eagles to a dramatic 22-20 victory at Luther.

Qualify.That was the goal of the Kingfisher High School girls cross country team when members toed the start line Saturday.The top six squads from the Class 4A regional would qualify for state and Kingfi sher was among the favorites to be included in that group.And the Lady Jackets came through.

Much like its contest at Heritage Hall, Kingfisher’s matchup with Star Spencer last Friday was a bit different than the final score might suggest.KHS returned home last Friday to defeat Star Spencer 41-22 and keep alive its playoff hopes.
