Lomega Student Council hosted its annual food drive leading up to the holiday season. Food items were collected at both the elementary and high school campuses. Student Council members also shopped for food items using money that was donated.

Brad Stone has been a regular photography contributor to the Kingfisher Times & Free Press for the last several years, mostly through covering Cashion sports. But Stone’s talents in shooting go beyond the fields and courts of the Wildcat athletic teams.

Kingfisher County property owners had paid 14.33% – $6,746,381 – of the $47,080,145 certified for collection for calendar year 2025 as of Thursday.County Treasurer Robin Rother reminded that the deadline to pay without penalty is Dec. 31.The penalty for delinquent tax is 1.5% per month.

Donations from Kingfisher Trails board members allowed for the final trees to be planted at the Newfield Community Park Arboretum. The arboretum is located on the park’s north end, north of Robberts Avenue and stretching west from Seventh Street to beyond Ninth Street.

The state Health Department is currently five months behind in payments for state food programs due to federal funding “that has kept our lunch program going,” but it’s expected funding will be available soon.
