Only one hundred of these special medallions have been cast in bronze by sculptor Tasso Pitsiri of Enid, commemorating Kingfisher’s statue of a farmer at the county’s Bicentennial Bell Tower Monument. The medallion contains a replica of the statue, and are available at $10 each.

Mike Frey of Kingfisher has been appointed to the Cattlemen’s Beef Promotion & Research Board (CBB).Frey was nominated by the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association.The CBB is responsible for guiding the national Beef Checkoff Program.

Longtime Kingfisher teacher and coach Larry Hart passed away Friday, Aug. 21.He was 80 years old. Hart was Kingfisher’s head high school football coach from 1989 to 1992, but stayed on staff for about two more decades after that.
