More Warrior gold?
Okarche dominates regional, back in contention for baseball state title

Okarche has a chance for at least one more state championship before the end of the school year.
The fifth-ranked Warriors downed Oklahoma Christian Academy 1-0 at home on Friday night to claim a Class A-I regional baseball championship.
The Warriors swept through the regional without giving up a run as they beat Empire 7-0 on Thursday in the opener and then downed OCA 9-0 that evening.
Friday’s win puts the Warriors into their second straight spring state tournament.
The Warriors enter state ranked No. 5 and with a 17-7 record.
They’ll take on No. 4 Ripley (31-2) at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond.
The winner gets the victor of No. 1 Wright City and No. 8 Caddo in the semifinals at 11 a.m. Friday, also at Oklahoma Christian.
The championship is 2 p.m. Saturday at Shawnee High School.
Okarche was a semifinalist last spring.
After beating Wright City 2-1 in the quarterfinals, the Warriors lost 2-1 to Tushka in the semis.
The Warriors also reached the semifinals in the last two fall seasons.
