Alice Wytona Simunek, 74, of Hennessey, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2026.

She was born Feb. 19, 1952, in Big Spring, Texas, to Robert “Bob” and Ellen “Teddy” Hair.

She graduated from Hennessey High School in 1970 and married Larry Simunek on May 2, 1970. Together they shared a beautiful life on the farm for 55 years.

Alice was a devoted homemaker, farmer’s wife, and loving mother to her two sons.

She worked for many years at the Hennessey Sale Barn. After her boys were grown, she worked at Mesis Law Office then was a secretary for the Church of Christ before returning to being a homemaker.

Alice is survived by her husband Larry Simunek; her two sons, Robert Simunek and wife Kristi and Loren Simunek; grandchildren Shea Talbert and husband Zach, Skye Simunek, Seth Simunek, Zac Simunek, and Jara Simunek.

She is also survived by her brothers Danny Hair and wife Becky and Steve Hair and wife Cindy, along with many nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents.

Later in life, she and Larry enjoyed spending time with lifelong friends, Sheri and Alan Rigdon, and she loved searching for antiques on online auctions.

Her funeral will was Monday, April 6, at Hennessey Church of Christ officiated by Lanny Jobe.

Burial followed at Hennessey Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
