Geheb delivers 500th strikeout in Okarche loss

Lawson Geheb reached a milestone in an Okarche loss Thursday night.

The Lady Warrior junior reached 500 career strikeouts as Okarche lost 4-2 to Waukomis in the Cimarron Fastpitch Softball Tournament.

Geheb struck out nine batters and allowed just one walk in the game.

But Waukomis’ Rye Bollman was up to the task.

She limited Okarche to six hits while striking out eight.

Avery Treece singled home a run in the second for a 1-0 lead for the Lady Warriors.

Waukomis answered with four straight runs over the next two innings.

The Lady Warriors didn’t score again until Kinley Pruett’s triple scored Geheb in the sixth.

Geheb had doubled to lead off the inning.

Pruett had three of Okarche’s hits.

Okarche started the day by thumping the host team 16-2 in just three innings.

The Lady Warriors plated 14 runs in the first inning.

Okarche got its offense with just seven hits. The Lady Warriors drew eight walks and were hit by pitches three times.

Charlie Petty got the win as she threw all three innings. She surrendered three hits and four earned runs while striking out four.

Petty also was 2 for 2 with 2 RBIs.

Kenzie Harper drove in two runs and scored twice.

Pruett, Katie Parham, Callie Cramer, Emma Roby and Kenzie Harper each scored two runs.
