Kingfisher wrapped up its showing at the Hall of Fame Softball Festival on Saturday by splitting with Yukon JV and Plainview.

The festival - played at Devon Park, the home of the Women’s College World Series - saw the Lady Jackets leave with a 2-2 during its time there.

It finished up Saturday afternoon with a 6-4 loss to Plainview as the time limit was called after four innings.

Kingfisher jumped on the Lady Indians, the team that knocked the Lady Jackets out of the playoffs last season, when Addison Johnson ripped a two-run single in the top of the first.

But that was all KHS managed despite having the bases loaded with just one out in the frame.

Plainview bounced back with three hits and a pair of walks in the bottom half of the inning to lead 3-2.

Kinlee East’s single in the second inning scored fellow senior Adlee Friesen to tie the game at 3-3.

That remained the score until the bottom of the third when Plainview capitalized on three hits and a KHS error to plate three runs.

Ryan Scammahorn reached and scored her second run of the game in the bottom of the inning, but that was all KHS could muster.

Scammahorn and Friesen both went 2-for-3 and they combined for two runs.

KHS out-hit Plainview 9-6.

Lily Voth was tagged with the loss as she struck out four and walked two. Only four of the runs she surrendered were earned.

The wild one with Yukon JV saw 21 runs scored in three innings before KHS walked it off for an 11-10 victory.

Down 10-8 entering the bottom of the inning, KHS rallied for the win as Kendall Farrar’s single scored Friesen and then East’s triple plated Scammahorn and Farrar to end the game.

KHS gave up six runs in the top of the first and was down 8-4 going into the bottom of the second.

Each time, the Lady Jackets battled back with runs.

Farrar continued her torching start to the season as she was 3 for 3 with a pair of RBIs and 3 runs scored.

Friesen was 2 for 3 and scored three times while Voth and Johnson both collected a hit, an RBI and a run.

Scammahorn and East drove in two runs apiece.

Kingfisher was 7-5 overall after Saturday.

The Lady Jackets now settle in for the stretch run in District 4A-3.

Kingfisher’s next nine games are against district foes.
