Organized practices for MOST fall sports began last Wednesday. That included fastpitch softball. For Kingfisher, it was the beginning of a new era as Tiffany Goodwin (top left) begins her first season as head coach. Goodwin, an Oklahoma City University graduate who played for the Stars, was an assistant at KHS last season. Among her most experienced returnees this year is senior Adlee Friesen (middle left), who is pictured dropping down to make a catch during warmups at Wednesday’s practice. Also able to begin practices last week were volleyball, cross country and fall baseball teams. Not on the list to start practice yet is football. Gridiron teams can begin limited practices Monday, Aug. 3, and start in full pads on Saturday, Aug. 8. However, KHS football coaches did host a camp earlier this week when several future Jackets took part in a number of offensive and defensive drills and other activities.
