Cashion wrestling history in the making

It was an historic weekend for the Cashion High School wrestling program.Two wrestlers earned medals, one of them was the program’s first-ever state finalist and coach Fay Barnett was honored during the Class 3A state tournament at OG&E Coliseum.

HHS girls stay in winner’s bracket

Cashion teams reach regional title games

About the only thing better than Cashion’s defense in the first half was its defense in the second half.Combined, the two halves saw the Lady Wildcats hammer Cordell 5422 Tuesday in a Class 2A regional semifinal in Watonga.

Roof raises her game; Lady Jackets win big

A quick start helped Kingfisher cruise into a Class 4A girls regional championship game.Ela Hartman and Reese Roof combined for six firsthalf 3-pointers as the Lady Jackets doubled up Cleveland, then rode that lead to a 53-37 victory in a Class 4A girls regional semifinal in Cushing.

Jackets pull away from Purple Pirates

Kingfisher is back in the regional championship game for a second straight year.The 10th-ranked Jackets dominated the second half Tuesday to pull away from Bristow 69-44 in a 4A regional semifinal in Cushing.The road gets tougher for KHS now as it takes on No. 4 North Rock Creek at 7:30 p.m.
