It happens in waves of 3’s

With its three total wins on the season, Alva wasn’t supposed to provide much of a roadblock for the Kingfisher Yellowjackets.And it didn’t. The Jackets made a season-high 13 3-pointers and tied their highest point total of the year Tuesday in an 80-45 win over the visiting Goldbugs at the APB.

Lady Jackets complete big comeback

There are a couple of different versions of the Kingfisher girls basketball teams.There’s one that doesn’t defend the 3-point line well, get defensive stops and thereby not able to get into a transition game.And then there’s the one that does all of that well.

Hennessey secures conference sweep over Watonga

Only five players scored for Hennessey in the Eagles’ home game Tuesday night with Watonga.But they scored a lot. The Eagles produced a season-high point total as they downed Watonga 87-74.It was Hennessey’s best win of the season as Watonga came in with a 6-6 mark.

Reherman continues strong career at SWOSU

( Editor’s note: Nate Reherman was a huge part of Weatherford’s emergence as a Class 4A boys basketball contender before graduating in 2024. In doing so, he had many clashes against Kingfisher along the way… and had local ties while doing so.

Tournament time...again

The high school and junior high boys Western Conference Wrestling Tournament will be held at the Kingfisher High School APB this Friday and Saturday.Hundreds of grapplers will be competing for conference crowns throughout mutliple sessions over the weekend.

A smothering defense by Fairview denied Hennessey’s bid for the Three Rivers Conference Tournament title.The top-seeded Lady Jackets held Hennessey to single digits in each of the first three quarters to claim the championship 52-34 Saturday at Watonga.
