In a sharp contrast with recent years, the 2021 legislative session was marked by significant reform efforts. Now that the session is in the rearview mirror, legislative leaders are declaring it one of the most accomplished in recent memory.

Memorial day morning, first off I’d like to give a great big thank you, to the cemetery crews, the Kingfisher cemetery, is as always perfect!!! The rural cemeteries, always groomed, thanks to the local cemetery Associations, these folks get together and clean up our rural cemeteries.

Scholarships were awarded to four Kingfisher High School seniors during the annual Kingfisher Lions Club’s Junior Lions banquet held May 17. Those receiving $500 scholarships were Joseline Rivera, Prairie Kaya, Maverick Ridenour and Kase Simon.

APRON ANNIES HOST OHS EVENT - Baccalaureate services for the Okarche High School Class of 2021 were held in the OHS gym Sunday, May 16.

Hennessey High School recently announced its honor rolls for the second semester of 2020-21. Students on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll earned all A’s while those on the Principal’s Honor Roll earned no grade lower than a B.

Kingfisher Heritage School announced winners of several awards and honors during ceremonies at the end of the 2020-21 school year.

Coronado Masonic Lodge #56 held a dinner followed by an open meeting Tuesday, May 18, in Hennessey to recognize and honor 11 Masons with membership pins and plaques.
