Jackets have career-best outings

Kingfisher golfers didn’t take home any individual trophies and there aren’t enough of them for a full team. That didn’t mean it wasn’t a successful day for them Wednesday at the Kingfisher Large-School Boys Invitational.

The stage is set. Kingfisher’s shot at hosting a 4A baseball regional essentially comes down to two games this week. The Jackets and Heritage Hall will play Monday and Tuesday (weather permitting) to decide the District 4A-1 champion.

Cashion’s Neeley Tilley-Bedick has more basketball in her future. The senior recently signed to continue her career at Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas. The signing came the same week Tilley-Bedick was named the Three Rivers Conference most valuable player.

Hospital blood supplies reaching critical level; donors needed

Hospital blood usage has surged nearly 10% over previous levels, as the state has moved into COVID recovery mode. Blood donors are needed immediately to respond. March was the highest distribution of certain blood products in the 44-year history of Oklahoma Blood Institute.

Kathleen Virginia Vogt died April 14, 2021, at her home in Okarche. A prayer service was 7 p.m. Friday, April 16, and Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 17. Both services will be at Holy Trinity Church with Rev. Cory Stanley officiating.

Kingfisher Tabs Cooper to Take Girls Basketball Reins

Kingfisher’s search for a new high school girls basketball coach ended Thursday night.The Kingfisher Board of Education voted unanimously to hire Taylor Cooper near the end of a special meeting.Cooper, an assistant at Edmond Santa Fe, said she is “excited” for the opportunity.
