Cashion property earns Centennial Farm Award

Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer Lynda Ozan announced that an Oklahoma Centennial Farm Award has been presented to the owners of a farm. Joyce Beck, Gloria Beck, Karri Nickel, Lisa Woolsey and Sonja Loucks own the Myrtle Smith Farm located in the vicinity of Cashion.

KHS HOMECOMING

KINGFISHER HIGH SCHOOL’S basketball homecoming game was canceled earlier this season so the school provided a brief crowning ceremony recently after the teams’ district games with Elk City. Crowned 2020-21 KHS basketball homecoming queen was senior Britt Taylor.

The Hennessey Police Department has recently issued the following citations: Possession of Marijuana ($785) - Michael Smith, Enid. Expired Car Tag ($265) & Defective Equipment ($197)- Tara R. Wymore, Hennessey. Careless Driving ($365) - Ervin R. Granillo, Hennessey.

Local residents who receive Meals on Wheels recently got an extra with their delivery, thanks to a community service project by Kingfisher STARS students. The 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) students crafted bookmarks to be delivered to recipients.

Don Gosney

Don Leslie Gosney was born Dec. 25, 1955, in Okeene to John and Mary (Dow) Gosney. He died Feb. 27, 2021, at the age of 65. Don attended Cheyenne Valley School through the second grade. When CVS closed, Don attended Fairview Schools and graduated from Fairview High School in 1974.
