That morning snow covered the grass on our front yard at 417 N. 84th St. in Oklahoma City. We were lucky the driveway and streets had soaked up most of the white stuff. That made it easier to push my Volkswagen out of the driveway after I buckled up my three-year-old son.

Lenten services to start

The Annual Lenten Series begins this week, Feb. 17 through March 24. All services will be held at the Kingfisher Nazarene Church and begin at noon. The last Service will be on Wednesday, March 31, at 6:30 p.m. Each week a different church will provide the message as well as a boxed lunch.

A Dover woman was killed and two Kingfisher teenagers were injured in separate traffic accidents on icy roadways Monday, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports. Brandi Lyn Byrum, 42, of Dover, was pronounced dead at the scene of a rollover collision just after 5 a.m. Monday on U.S. 81, .
